Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday targeted Prime Minister Narendra over the recent furor over the arrest of a Kanpur-based businessman and the seizure nearly 180 crore rupees in cash.
Owaisi attacked Prime Minister Modi and asked how the person could accumulate such cash wealth if the 2016 demonetization campaign had worked.
“PM should say how money worth Rs 180 crore can be found at a businessman’s residence in UP despite demonetization?” The prime minister should accept that his original idea – demonetization – has totally failed and destroyed small-scale industries and jobs, ”Owaisi said, according to the news agency. ANI.
Earlier this week, the Income Tax Department seized more than 177 crore in rupees in cash from the home of perfume trader Piyush Jain in Kanpur, which the Union Ministry of Finance claimed was ” largest seizure of money ”ever made by a law enforcement agency.
Yesterday Prime Minister Modi dealt a veiled blow to the Samajwadi party over the raid and scoffed at it as “the success and reality” of the opposition party in Uttar Pradesh.
“Boxes full of notes tripped. I thought they would say it was done by us as well. The people of Kanpur understand business and commerce well. Before 2017, the scent of corruption they had spread throughout Uttar Pradesh is there for everyone. But now they are sitting with their mouths shut. They are not showing up to take credit for the mountain of banknotes seen by the whole country. It is their fulfillment and their reality. The people of Uttar Pradesh see and understand everything and, therefore, they are with those who work to advance the state, ”Prime Minister Modi said on Tuesday at a rally in Kanpur after inaugurating a project of railway metro and the 356 km long Bina. -Panki multi-product pipeline project.
