BTIG Fixed Income Credit hires Blake Considine, Tyler Danielsen and Josh Markfield to build capacity in emerging markets


NEW YORK, October 04, 2021– (BUSINESS WIRE) –BTIG today announced the expansion of the company’s fixed income credit division with several senior recruits specializing in the sale and trading of debt securities in emerging markets. Blake Considine and Josh Markfield have joined BTIG as Managing Directors, while Tyler Danielsen joins the company as Managing Director.

They will each be responsible for helping improve the team’s global reach, industrial relations and client resources in developed and emerging markets around the world. In their new functions within the firm, they will report directly to Darren Haines and Michael Carley, Sr., Co-Head of BTIG Fixed Income Credit. “Our clientele of institutions and businesses around the world are increasingly focused on expanding beyond developed markets,” noted Anton LeRoy, President of BTIG. “Diving into emerging markets is another important development of our global credit platform and we are delighted to have Blake, Tyler and Josh join us on this effort. “

At BTIG, Mr. Considine will hold a sales position with a focus on Asia-Pacific. He has nearly 15 years of experience in the industry. Prior to BTIG, he was Managing Director at Seaport Global Securities. Previously, Mr. Considine was Director in Structured Credit at Deutsche Bank and Vice President in Institutional Flows and Structured Credit Sales at BNP Paribas.

Mr. Danielsen will also focus on Asia-Pacific trade at BTIG. He held several sales and trading positions in emerging markets before joining BTIG. Mr. Danielsen was Director of Credit Sales and Trading at Seaport Global Securities, where he spent nearly five years. Earlier in his career, he held similar positions at Tullett Prebon and Creditex Group – Intercontinental Exchange.

Mr. Markfield has 25 years of emerging market trading experience in buying and selling companies. As a BTIG Fixed Income Credit Trader, he will focus on the Latin American market. Prior to BTIG, he was Managing Director in Fixed Income Credit at Maxim Group and Seaport Global Securities. Previously, Mr. Markfield was Managing Director and Co-Head of Emerging Markets at Cantor Fitzgerald. Earlier in his career, he was Credit Trader at SAC Capital and Director in Credit Trading at Calyon. Mr. Markfield has also held negotiating positions with Gramercy Advisors and Oppenheimer.
